Thursday evening my father, Kenneth Dale Card of Clarinda, Iowa, went to be with his Lord and my mother.
His passing, while unwelcome, was not surprising. He has been in failing health for some time now and the latest was a re-emergence of the leukemia-like symptoms he had several years ago (which I mentioned briefly in this post).
Honestly, I expected him to be gone within 6 months of Mom's death, but he has hung in there for almost 2 years past what I expected. We will miss him, but we have had 2 years of bonus time with him, so we have all come out ahead.
