Academia Nuts

The public is not only shifting from left to right. Every single idea associated with the educated class has grown more unpopular over the past year.

The educated class believes in global warming, so public skepticism about global warming is on the rise. The educated class supports abortion rights, so public opinion is shifting against them. The educated class supports gun control, so opposition to gun control is mounting.

The story is the same in foreign affairs. The educated class is internationalist, so isolationist sentiment is now at an all-time high, according to a Pew Research Center survey. The educated class believes in multilateral action, so the number of Americans who believe we should “go our own way” has risen sharply.

Which just goes to show you, there is a difference between being educated and being intelligent.

Still reading...

As a member of the "educated class", I have a few comments regarding this post.

1) Haven't shifted - always leaned right

2) I believe in global warming. It's spring. Global cooling happens in the fall. (Sorry Australia/NZ)

3) I support gun control. Allowing bullets to fly about willy-nilly is irresponsible.

4) I believe in multilateral action: The states of Alabama, Alaska, Arizona, Arkansas, etc should join together as one to take on issues concerning the mid-section of the North American continent.

Back to my reading. Good stuff.

I don't have any of those Google/OpenID/URL things so "Anonymous" is what remains...

I have a convertible, I'm in favor of global warming. Gun control is being able to hit your target.
