Temporary Bouts of Sanity

This morning I was discussing the work schedule with one of my co-workers and I mentioned that I won't be at work Monday night because Tuesday we have to go to Rocky Mount to have the mass removed from her chest wall.

He asked me how it was that I wasn't insane. I replied, "How do you know that I am?"

I wasn't joking. It's like a nightmare I can't wake up from.

1 The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want.
2 He maketh me to lie down in green pastures:
he leadeth me beside the still waters.
3 He restoreth my soul:
he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake.
4 Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death,
I will fear no evil: for thou art with me;
thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.
5 Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies:
thou anointest my head with oil;
my cup runneth over.
6 Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life:
and I will dwell in the house of the LORD for ever.

Hang in there shipmate, one day at a time.
"Normal" is just a statistical average, it has no real meaning.

I was just feeling sorry for myself. I'll be better soon.
Thanks for dropping by Mike!

Hang in there Larry.

Moose is prayin' for you and yours. Cuz you know I'm one of those knuckle draggers clinging to my guns and religion.

Thanks Moose, it's greatly appreciated.

Larry:

I followed you over here from AOS, where I enjoy your comments.

I am a cancer survivor and I am always sensitive to the trials of those who are faced with that disease.

Looking back on my cancer treatment (about 7 years) I really do think that at times it was harder on my loved ones than it was on me. I'm a father now, and just imagining what it would be like if one of my kids had to go through that...it's just stunning.

Hang in there, and I'll keep checking in here for reports of your lovely wife.

Thanks Cowboy, appreciate the support from a fellow moron! Congrats on your remission, thanks for dropping by!

Thank YOU, Larry.

And speaking of remission--my doctors gave me between a year and three years...thirty years ago!

So keep that in mind when things get bad, ok?

I'm going to Mass in five minutes and will say prayers for both of you (hope you don't mind).

Prayers are always welcome Cowboy. Always.
One of the Chiefs I worked for used to tell me "Plan for the worst and hope for the best." So that's what I do, and I won't take the next day, the next month, the next year, for granted.
At least I've learned that much.
Thanks for dropping by Cowboy.
