Be Careful What You Ask For

I don't think this will end like they think it will end.

Maybe someone could explain to me what the sense is in picking a fight with the people who own all the guns?

I sure would like to see the rest of that picture on your header. Seems like it might be "very interesting".

My wife, after visiting her very first gun-show (she was hesitant due to media-hyped misconceptions about gun owners) commented that, based on the folks she met and interacted with and observed at this (very small) gun show, that gun-nuts have got to be some of the nicest, most polite people she's met*. By contrast, if you read forum and FB responses, anti-gunners are some of the most violent people, wishing all sorts of horrible deaths on "violence-loving" gun owners and their families. Irony escapes these people...along with reality.

*yes....there are exceptions to every rule, and I've met friendly folks who hate guns. But, for the most part, the above examples hold true.

Grass Roots North Carolina sends out a weekly mailing called the Gun Blast that highlights articles and comments regarding 2A matters, the "gun nuts" that respond to the article are for the most part very polite and erudite, the antis are mostly screechy harridans who attack commenters but not the actual comments. As you say, there are exceptions, but I find that is generally the rule.

Thanks for dropping by RA!

Add: the difference is, we think they are wrong and need to be educated, they think we are evil and must be destroyed.

Agreed. Amazing the things one can learn when one starts to think for themselves. Pre-conceived notions go flying out the door and wither away in the blinding light of actual thought. Emotions are fine and dandy until they replace critical thinking skills.
