The Modern World

I just got into this Facebook thing because my son-in-law (the one in Wyoming that I've never met) sent me an invite so I could see pics of the grandkids.

Much to my surprise I know a lot of people on Facebook. And me being such a Neanderthal, who knew?

The only problem is that there are so many things - applications, games and so forth - that I really don't know what all to allow and what not to.

Of course, once I get it all figured out things will change again and leave me in the dark all over again, snuffling around in my cave looking for the two rocks I had to bang together to make sparks.

If you're here via the Facebook link, well this is my page. Have a look around and leave me a note in the comments to let me know you were here.

I was here because you are on my daily read list.

I'm on facebook, too - and you are right, the groups and causes and invites sure do overwhelm at times. I ignore the ones I don't want to be part of, and check out the rest - join the ones that interest you, and don't worry about it changing again. It will.

Change is the only constant, isn't it?
Thanks for dropping by Cary.

I'll have to do that. I haven't posted many pictures.

I don't do facebook, but I twat on Twitter.

Different subject but I'm kind of freaked out. My son last talked to his recruiter some months ago and he was waiting on some paperwork and dragging his feet - now he went back to talk to the guy and came to find out none of the recruiting offices are open, but permanently closed. He has to take a 2 hour drive to get to one; the rest are all gone.

What the...WHAT THE HELL? What happened? What gives? What's happening so quietly? Any idea, I just don't know who else to ask something like this. He's trying to get into the Navy.

But there were so many recruiters around here and they're all gone - it's very weird. This particular time they didn't say they'd pick him up, for some reason. Sigh. He's got to take the test and see what they say he can do if he gets in, apparently. Aside from "whatever they tell him", I don't know lol.

Also I can't bring myself to say I "tweet" - the word "twitter" is bad enough lol. So I made up my own :D
