All In Perspective

Now that I've had time to sleep on it I am still disappointed in my performance yesterday, but I know how to fix it so that's what I'm going to do.

When I was at the height of my disgust with myself I said I was going to take up a different hobby, like needlepoint. That was never going to happen, of course.

I started the day with ten minutes of draw, reload and dry-fire exercises.  This will be my normal daily routine from now on.

I know how to get better. I will get better. I know how to do it now.

And as an aside note I am looking for a Glock 9mm that fits my hand like the G36.  Is there one? Suggestions? Yes, it must be a Glock since that is what I carry, and I want it in nine for its inexpensive feeding habits.

UPDATE: It looks like the Glock 26 and the 36 are very comparable in size. Does anyone have one that they would be willing to comment on?

I am giving serious consideration to just buying the TigerSwan Glock. It has the nicer trigger, really nice sights, and the extended mag release.

I know that you are not really interested in a Glock 17, which is fairly big. Maybe you could ask them to build you a TigerSwan Glock 19. The 19 is bigger than the subcompact 36, but it's not all that big. It's probably easier to control than a subcompact .45

We so have to do this again.

I love the slide release on that Tigerswan Glock, I am so going to have to find one for my 36.
Agreed, we do have to do this again, just give me time to practice what they showed us a bit. I'd really like to not suck as badly the next time I'm in the company of a large group of shooters.
Thanks for dropping by!

I needlepoint and embroider! you wouldn't like it. Its makes you squint.

Like I need another reason to squint. My eyes are bad enough as it is.
Thanks for dropping by Karagush!
(Have you shot that Mosin yet?)

I'd personally go with the 19. It's just a bit larger than the 29/30/36, but you can get you whole mitt on the gun a lot more easily than with the 26.

That's probably good advice, but since I have the 36 (with +1 extensions on the mags) I want to find something that is comparable in size to train with that is going to be less expensive to feed.
Thanks for dropping by Tam!

Personally, I'd train with the 19, and carry it, too. ;)

You're not a signatory to the Hague Accords; you can use expanding bullets.

I'm with Tam on this one. Though I'd like a 17 as well as a 19. I could carry the 17 most times, but carry the 19 when I want to be discrete.

Funny thing, that's what Brian Searcy said when he recommended a 9mm loaded with hollowpoints for a carry gun.
I have smallish hands so the G36 fits me well, that's the main reason I'm looking for a similar size 9mm. The 26 looks to be a similar size, the 19 not much bigger.
I'm going to have to find a local Merchant of Death that has all of these weapons of mass destruction in stock so I can lay my mitts on them and see what fits the best.
