The revolutionaries/progressives won in all three cases. America was blessed by the quality of wanting-to-be-former Englishmen rather than French or Russian.

Don't forget being surrounded by Tories in 1775 ...

I tell people that we were Britain's Vietnam, they should have been able to easily crush us but didn't for political reasons.
