Hey! There's A Bandwagon!
I have a range session next weekend, so I'm going out to shoot at least two of the 5 most dangerous guns in America, maybe more if things work out well.
First up, since it will be the inaugural run of the Sig, I'm going to shoot the first most dangerous gun in America, the pistol. I will go so far as to bring my Glocks to play, so two of the three of the pistols I shoot will be Glocks. This will pretty well coincide with the articles statement that "65 percent of the market share of handguns for United States law enforcement agencies" is filled by Glock, even though neither one of mine to the best of my knowledge was ever used by any law enforcement agency...but the Sig was.
If Range Partner brings his Alaskan I might even shoot the second most dangerous gun in America, the revolver. I'm only going to shoot it once, though, because a .454 Casull in that short frame really hurts to shoot. That's why he says he carries it, he only wants to have to shoot it once. After all, if I'm going to shoot a dangerous gun it might as well be a really dangerous gun.
I'll probably bring at least one of the long guns out of the safe, so I'm certain that I'll put a few rounds through the third most dangerous gun in America, the rifle. The only question is, which one? I haven't brought the Nazi killer out to play lately, so maybe there's a fireball in my future. That should amp the danger meter up some.
Next, perhaps I'll drag the EBS out for some fun and games so that I can shoot the fourth most dangerous gun in America, the shotgun. It's been a while since I've put anything through it, so maybe it's due. Also I need some more/better pictures of it in its current configuration, so it has to come out of the safe anyway. Since it was built with the specific purpose of scaring the gun grabbers it definitely belongs on the dangerous list.
Unfortunately neither one of us has a derringer, so I won't be shooting the fifth most dangerous gun in America.
And now I'm going to get something to try to wash away the memory of reading that article. The things I do for cheap hits...

Kerfuffle
Apparently we haz one.
You see, it's NC Governor Pat McCrory's 25th anniversary, and for this special occasion he's taking his lady somewhere nice and leaving the LT Governor in charge.
Somewhere nice is apparently other than NC, since the LTG is in charge, and that's where the kerfuffle is. Our chattering class here is aghast that he wouldn't spend his vacation in North Carolina, after all we have nice places, too.
I don't see what the problem is, after all it's Christmas and the legislature isn't in session anyway so it's not like he has something really really important to do...other than celebrate his 25th anniversary with the woman that has put up with him that long, that is.
Besides, if it were me I'd be out of state even if I was in-state IYKWIMAITYD.
I guess if that's all they have to complain about everything must be going pretty good.

Say What???
Billions of years from now when the sun goes supernova and swallows the Earth, the singularity of stupid from this statement will still be sucking the intelligence off of the planet.

This Is Why
gun owners do not like registrations.*
There are only two reasons you register something, either so you can tax it or so you can confiscate it later on. This is why cars have license plates, so the state knows you have paid your taxes and fees on them. The fact that the police can use them for identification is secondary.
Gun owners who have subscriptions to the local rags should check to see if they are Gannett owned publications, and if so cancel with a full explanation.
Note to the press: we can and will turn the tables on you. What do you say we just ignore each other, and maybe we will go away?
*New link, the previously linked video seems to have been memory-holed.

Something I've Learned
about the "international community" following the travesty in Connecticut - they understand as much about us as we do about them.To hear them talk they are experts on America and Americans, and yet they come up with things like this.
I have a feeling that since the media vacuum chamber here in the US wants desperately to be like quasi-socialist Europe the rest of the media world-wide (birds of a feather, doncha know) assumes that is the way we all think, and of course just like our own home-grown lefties they are constantly amazed at the opposition of red-state America to further impingements on our Constitutional freedoms.*
But what do I know, I'm just bitterly clinging to guns and God over here.

*Apparently the term I was looking for is administrative control bias. Thanks Kevin!

With Many Thanks
to the ignorant buffoons that call themselves "reporters" these days.
The good news is there are four of us on this street.
Come and find me assholes.

Academia Nuts
The public is not only shifting from left to right. Every single idea associated with the educated class has grown more unpopular over the past year.
Which just goes to show you, there is a difference between being educated and being intelligent.
