Government Health Care

For those of you who still wonder what it would be like to enjoy free Government supplied health care, wonder no more.

Yes, this is an extreme case. So what.

Pay particular attention to the part that says "But because of an old federal law called the Feres Doctrine, Read, his wife, and his family members can't sue the military over what happened to him."

Count on that doctrine to be part and parcel of Government paid health care.

You have been warned.

HT: The Smallest Minority

UPDATE: Apparently the Republicans have been told not to call it "government run healthcare" in correspondence to their constituents if they want to use their franking privileges. They must instead call it a "public option health care plan." Because socialism is such an ugly word.

I've a bunch of brothers in the Navy, or retired therefrom, and I saw that article when it first came out. That was the FIRST thing I thought of.

I worked in England briefly for a U.S. organization and had to see a doctor one time for a small cut on my arm that got a minor infection. Unbelievably bad health care, and the experience, as brief as it was, with me waving all kinds of cash that said "please take care of me well" was horrible. I still have a nasty scar from the experience.

And yet there are those who will swear that it's just what we need to solve all of our problems!

It would solve all of their problems, eventually, one at a time, or at least it would spare the rest of us the problems of having to hear about it.

Graveyards are pretty quiet places, after all.

Thanks for dropping by Brigid!

It's time to secede, and take the doctors with us.

(And everybody else that has any marketable skills!)

I don't know that it's quite time to jump ship just yet. Then again, I've always been more of an Eddie Willers kind of guy.
