Yep, one of the reasons I didn't move back when I retired from the USN. Temperatures in the teens is an aberration in North Carolina, in Iowa we just called it winter.
Of course they complain about how hot it gets here, too. Very few of them have ever frozen in a Midwest winter only to bake in the summer.
Seasons...you certainly have them!
